¡Hola! My name is Ms. Karen Molina and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach Spanish at Riverview and Lakeview elementary schools this year!  My career began teaching Spanish in Denville in 2000.  Through the years I have also taught fourth and third grades.  I was born and raised in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Growing up, my parents maintained many of their Colombian traditions in our home.
I am also the proud mom of two daughters!

Students in fourth and fifth grade will receive Spanish lessons once a week.  The language, vocabulary and grammar are learned through songs, skits, and games.  Students will start the same way the children learn their first language: listen first, say words, say short phrases and gradually increasing the quality and  quantity of Spanish using music, movement, games and visual aids.  In addition, the rich culture of the Hispanic world will be presented.

Occasionally, students will bring home a short list of new vocabulary words based on the unit. Please encourage your child to tell you the new words they have learned in class. It will be a lot of fun.

¡Gracias!

This is the best time for your child to begin learning a foreign language. Research shows that children at this age are like “sponges” when it comes to language absorption. The earlier they start, the greater their success.  To learn more click on the link.
